A retired CIA agent is haunted by both the agency he once worked for and his own nightmares when he is suddenly visited by an unknown man after nearly three decades. Production was put on hold in March 2020 due to government restrictions. During this time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and subsequently received treatment. After recovering, the series returned to production. Bridges described the return as a "long weekend" return to the podcast in July 2022. Presented at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024). Expectations were high, but 65% of the dialogue and reaction shots are exaggerated. We get the gist of it, they're scared/worried/angry. No sell-out required. Series 1-2 promised a lot, but didn't seem to abandon a single tweak that would help the series survive.
